Growing up on a naval base in Washington state, Marti Malloy first began judo at age six alongside her three brothers. About ten years later, she had become one of the worldโ€™s best, qualifying for the London Olympics and earning a bronze medal there for the United States. Heading into the 2016 Rio Games, Malloy remains one of the top judokas in the womenโ€™s lightweight (57kg/125 lbs) class. Malloy grew up sparring against MMA superstar and 2008 Olympic judo bronze medalist Ronda Rousey. Rousey credits with Malloy with successfully beating her once. Malloy has a wide range of nicknames that include Martian, Martidamus and Titanium Malloy.
