Rob Zepp Plays Steve Mason's Role, Gets Zero Goal Support in Shutout Loss to Caps

It’s been written in this space after countless games this season that Flyers goaltender Steve Mason deserved a better fate than what he wound up with.

After Wednesday night’s game against the Washington Capitals, Rob Zepp now knows the way Mason has felt far too often this year.

In his second straight start, Zepp, the Flyers’ 33-year-old rookie netminder, made 25 saves, but his only blemish on the night proved to be too much for his teammates to overcome as the Flyers were shutout, 1-0, by the Capitals at Verizon Center.
