Brown Mills, N.J. native Matt Emmons failed to qualify for the Finals in the Menβs 10-Meter Air Rifle competition Monday morning.
Emmons, a two-time Olympic medalist in shooting, finished near the bottom of the 47-man competition (35th place) after posting a 590 and 42 inner 10βs in qualifiers. He needed a score of 596 to make the finals.
Fellow American Jonathan Hall finished 27th with a 592/42.
Emmons now must wait for the Menβs 50-Meter Rifle, 3 Position next week to see if he can take home his third Olympic medal.
