Report: 49ers Expected to Fire Chip Kelly

A little over a year after being fired by the Eagles, current 49ers head coach Chip Kelly will reportedly be out of a job yet again.

San Francisco is expected to make "sweeping changes," including dumping Kelly and general manager Trent Baalke, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Kelly is just 2-13 this year with the 49ers, incurring a 13-game losing streak, the longest in team history. San Francisco has had three head coaches in the last three seasons. Kelly replaced Jim Tomsula. Tomsula went 5-11 after taking over for Jim Harbaugh, who was fired by the 49ers after the 2014 season.

After finishing with a 26-21 record in three seasons as the Eagles' head coach, Kelly was let go before the last game of the 2015 season. He finished that season 6-9 after gaining full roster control in an apparent power struggle with Howie Roseman.
