Union Re-sign Versatile Midfielder Warren Creavalle

The Union retained more depth on Saturday, re-signing 25-year-old defensive midfielder, Warren Creavalle. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"Warren is a versatile player who has a great deal of experience in our league," Union sporting director Earnie Stewart said.

What likely won Creavalle the job, aside from his work ethic and veteran status, is his ability to also chip in at full back.

"His ability to adapt to several positions and his work ethic make him a valuable player to have on our roster," Stewart said.

With Michael Lahoud out of the picture after being loaned for the season to the New York Cosmos, Creavalle is expected to play a greater depth role. He played just five games and made two starts for the Union last season. Creavalle has played 83 games in his four-year MLS career, splitting time between the Houston Dynamo, Toronto FC and Union.

Creavalle played 24 games with Toronto FC before being traded to the Union in August for a second-round draft pick in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft. He has five career goals.
