Ryan Howard Isn't Done With Baseball, Still Training His Butt Off

Ryan Howard's career with the Phillies has come to an end but that doesn't mean his baseball career is over.

Many people believe Howard can still play. Charlie Manuel for one. The Big Piece himself for another.

In a new video posted by Whistle Sports, Howard gives us a look at the training he's doing to ensure he's in the best possible shape he can be in to start the 2017 season with another club.

"The mindset this year is just to continue to train and prepare myself for another season," Howard said.

He's is up early, getting his swings in around 6:30 in the morning to begin the day. He says that during a typical hitting session he'll hit between 140 and 150 balls to build up endurance.

Howard follows the work in the cage with a more physical workout with his trainer. It doessn't look like a whole lot of fun.

The Big Piece did hit 25 home runs in 2016 but his slash line was less than optimal. As you can see in the below video, he's doing everything he can to make sure his career isn't over just yet.
