The Flyers still seemingly have a need at forward, but picked up another defenseman on Tuesday.

    And this one's coming home.

The team reached a multi-year contract with South Jersey product T.J. Brennan, who spent the majority of last season in the AHL.

Brennan, 27, grew up in Moorestown, N.J. where he went to high school until his senior season, when he left to play Junior hockey in Canada.

The 6-foot-1, 213-pound defenseman was the 31st overall pick of the Sabres in 2007 and has played in a total of 53 NHL games (13 points; 5 goals, eight assists) with the Sabres, Panthers and Maple Leafs.

Brennan won the Eddie Shore Award as the AHL's outstanding defenseman for the 2015-16 season. He also won it in 2013-14.

In 69 regular season games with the Toronto Marlies (AHL) last season, Brennan recorded 68 points (25 goals, 43 assists). He also played well in the playoffs, with nine points in 15 games to help the Marlies reach the conference finals.

He appeared in seven games for the Maple Leafs last season, averaging 15:06 in ice time. He scored one goal.

While at Moorestown High School, Brennan played in the Flyers Cup tournament in 2005. He was also a member of the Philadelphia Little Flyers.
