Flyers-Islanders Preseason Game No. 2: Roster, Highlights, Live Stream and More

Hockey is back in South Philadelphia.

The Flyers on Monday night will play their first home preseason game when they host the Islanders at the Wells Fargo Center.

Unlike a lot of early exhibition games, the roster features plenty of regulars along with some exciting prospects.

A few of the highlights:

• We haven't seen James van Riemsdyk hit the Wells Fargo Center ice in orange and black since the 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs. That will change as he's set to make his preseason debut.

• The first exhibition action for Carter Hart. The 2016 second-round pick played in the rookie game last Wednesday. We'll have to wait and see how Hart and Michal Neuvirth split the work tonight.

• Another look at Philippe Myers, who impressed during Saturday's training camp practice, keeping up with some speedsters (see story). The 21-year-old defenseman also played Sunday.

• Scott Laughton, a third-line center candidate, is expected to play left wing. That doesn't mean he won't play center soon. Here's what head coach Dave Hakstol said Saturday:

Laughts played really well down the stretch for us on the wing, so he's there for the first part of camp, he'll play an exhibition game at left wing. I hate getting locked into things, but I think at that point in time, we're going to make a switch and get Laughts a couple practices up the middle and hopefully an exhibition game up the middle. I don't want to be erratic. Laughts played really well for us in two different spots last year, he finished the year extremely well at left wing, and that's why we're starting him there.

Here are the essentials for tonight. The lineup should look a bit different than the roster below as the team will not play 16 forwards. Travis Konecny, Nolan Patrick and Taylor Leier played Sunday.
