    Here’s your chance to hear from Independent Wali “Diop” Rahman about the views and issues shaping his campaign for Philadelphia Mayor. He will appear on a Special Edition of NBC10 @Issue on Tuesday, October 25.

    NBC10’s Steve Highsmith is the host of NBC10 @Issue. The program will air on NBC10 from 7 to 7:30 p.m. and on NBCPhiladelphia Nonstop for an entire hour from 7-8 p.m.

    Wali “Diop” Rahman is challenging Mayor Michael Nutter, the Democratic incumbent in the November 8 General Election.

    Rahman announced his candidacy for Mayor in July. He is also known by his adopted name, Diop Olugbala.

    On the ballot, he's the Independent running for mayor of Philadelphia in the 2011 election. Wali "Diop" Rahman's campaign motto is "Unbought. Unchained. Unbroken."     Rahman is the only independent challenger in the 2011 Mayor’s race. He has been a community organizer with the International People’s Uhuru Movement and the Independent Media Center. He is running on a platform calling for more emphasis on community economic development, with less public funding for police, prisons and courts.

    On Tuesday, October 18, Republican Mayoral candidate Karen Brown was featured on a Special Edition of NBC10 @Issue.
