A private detective said he was hired by the Church of Scientology to follow leader David Miscavige's father, according a police report. The investigator, Dwayne S. Powell, was arrested in Wisconsin in 2013 after police received a call about a suspicious man who was walking around a neighborhood. Powell then told police he had been paid $10,000 a week to follow Ronald Miscavige Sr. because David Miscavige was afraid of ex-members divulging information about the church's inner workings, according to the report. The church has denied Powell's allegations.
