A team of AIDS experts were among the victims of the Malaysia Airlines flight shot down over Ukraine on Thursday, colleagues told NBC News. Former president of the International AIDS Society Joep Lang and British spokesman for the World Health Organization Glenn Thomas were scheduled to have been aboard Flight MH17. The experts were on their way to a major international AIDS meeting in Melbourne, Australia.
