Streisand was honored as MusiCares Person of the Year, The Associated Press reported. "I said yes because it's such a wonderful organization that takes care of their own -- the people who actually create the music," the singer said at the event.
Among the stars who performed songs associated with Streisand’s career included Stevie Wonder, Tony Bennett, Diana Krall, Herbie Hancock, Barry Manilow, "Glee"’s Lea Michele and Matthew Morrison, Jeff Beck and Kristin Chenoweth.

At the event, Prince introduced Streisand as “very simply the one and only.” Streisand also performed several songs herself, including “Evergreen” and “The Way We Were.”
The singer is nominated for a Grammy in the Best Pop Vocal Album category for “Love is the Answer.”
"I love music for what it does to the soul, how it elevates the moment, the emotions," said Streisand, according to the AP. "I love music for what it's given me. It gave me a job when I couldn't get a job as an actress. I love how music binds us together. It also reflects the times we live in."
