Islamic militants claim to have beheaded an American photojournalist and threatened the life of another American if President Barack Obama doesn't stop airstrikes in Iraq. A graphic video purportedly shows freelance reporter James Foley, a Global Post contributor kidnapped in Syria two years ago, reciting threats against America before he is executed by an ISIS militant. Foley's mother said Tuesday night that she had never been prouder of her son, calling him an "extraordinary son, brother, journalist and person" who "gave his life" reporting on Syrian suffering. "We implore the kidnappers to spare the lives of the remaining hostages. Like Jim, they are innocents," she said.
