The Port of Wilmington and Dole Food Co. have signed a 15-year lease for Dole to import and export cargo.
The lease, signed Tuesday, includes terms governing Dole's use of the port and commitments by the port for capital improvements to meet Dole's needs.
Dole is the Port's largest customer, importing bananas, pineapples and other fruit and exporting forest products and general cargo since 1982.
