Lehigh Valley Home Invader Attacks, Kills Man in His Bed: Police

A man who was attacked by a suspect armed with a handgun and baseball bat in a home invasion in eastern Pennsylvania has died.

The Lehigh County Coroner's Office said Tuesday that 44-year-old Brian Frank died Monday afternoon, a day after police say he was awakened in bed and attacked by 32-year-old Larry Yaw.

Frank was found in his apartment along 3rd Street in Whitehall Sunday bleeding from his head. Police say they believe Yaw beat Frank. Investigators say a witness heard a loud noise, a gunshot and Frank screaming in pain.

Yaw was charged with aggravated assault and related offenses in the attack. It's unclear if he has an attorney or whether the charges will be upgraded.

Frank's cause of death is pending an autopsy scheduled for Wednesday.
