Two Local Animal Shelters Waive Adoption Fees for the Weekend

Providence Animal Shelter and the Animal Care and Control Team will waive their adoption fees this weekend

Find your furry companion and get a pawesome start to you weekend because two local shelters have waived their adoption fees for a short time.

Providence Animal Shelter in Media and the Animal Care and Control Team (ACCT) in Philly will waive their adoption fees on Saturday, July 27 and Sunday, July 28. ACCT will also waive fees on Friday.

"We want to bring attention to the awesome animals we have here,” ACCT handler Blake Martin said.

Both shelters have large volumes of animals this summer, and many pets that were abandoned during Tropical Storm Barry have been taken in by the shelters.

"We’re at a point now this summer where 75 to 100 animals are coming in per day,” said Martin. "So, we’re doing our best to find them the best homes.”
