Temple University Running Super Bowl Ad as Part of Take Charge Campaign

As part of its "Take Charge" campaign, Temple University will be launching a commercial that will air locally on Sunday during the Super Bowl.

There are two potential endings to the ad, and Temple is encouraging the community to vote to pick which ending of the ad will run during the game.

The university's campaign, which launched last fall, has focused on telling the Temple story in a fresh way.

"The Temple story is about people who are tenacious and visionary; they don't sit back and wait for things to be explained to them,' Karen Clarke told temple.edu. Clarke, Temple's vice president of strategic marketing and communications, added, "We step forward and take charge; we make things happen."

The campaign's homepage, in addition to providing links to both commercials, displays six different stories about people "taking charge" in the community.

Advertising during the Super Bowl is a great opportunity to spread the word about Temple. "People do not understand how great a university Temple is," Clarke said. "This campaign is designed to bring that to the forefront."

The two commercials are almost entirely alike, but the endings portray two important pieces to any Temple student, faculty or alum. One features Stella, Temple's official mascot since 2013, and the other paints a picture of the Philly skyline.

You can vote to help decide which commercial airs here.
