Man Takes Stolen Fire Vehicle to New Jersey Robbery

A South Jersey man faces a lengthy prison sentence after he was convicted of a robbery that involved the use of a stolen fire department vehicle.

Authorities say 50-year-old Oreader Calloway, of Salem City, entered a Stow Creek Township home in June 2012 and threatened a female occupant with a heavy metal object. He then made her stay in the basement while he ransacked the house.

Cumberland County prosecutors said Calloway traveled to and from the home in a vehicle that he had stolen from the Salem City Fire Department earlier that day.

He was convicted Friday on single counts of making terroristic threats, robbery, kidnapping, burglary and two counts of receiving stolen property. He's scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 27.
