SEPTA Regional Rail Schedule Changes Take Effect

Changes aimed at increasing service reliability on SEPTA's Regional Rail Lines go into effect on Sunday.

SEPTA officials said all lines will be affected, but passengers who use the Airport, West Trenton and Warminster lines will feel the most impact. Under the new schedule, SEPTA's Airport Line will no longer continue service to Warminster or West Trenton during the week, according to a SEPTA news release.

Officials said that service issues that often plague the West Trenton and Warminster lines have impacted the Airport Line in the past, causing cascading delays.

Other changes to the Regional Rail Airport Line schedule, which is available at SEPTA.org, include:

  • Weekday trains will depart a few minutes ahead of currently scheduled times.
  • Weekday trains between 6 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. will operate only between Temple University and the airport -- but early-morning and late-night service will remain the same.
  • Weekday trains between 9:25 a.m. and 3 p.m., and after 7 p.m., will operate only between Jenkintown-Wyncote and the airport.
  • Warminster and West Trenton trains that previously served the airport on weekdays will no longer run direct service to the airport or to University City station. SEPTA officials said passengers on those lines can transfer to an Airport Line, Media/Elwyn or Wilmington/Newark train at Jefferson or Suburban Station to get to those stops.
