Downed wires caused by a PennDOT truck blocked both directions of one of Chester County’s busiest roads for more than an hour during a wet Tuesday morning commute.
Wires wound up across U.S. Route 202 near Swedesford Road in Malvern, Pennsylvania shortly after 6 a.m. causing traffic to back up back to S Morehall Road (Route 29). The downed wires aren't far from Penn State's Great Valley campus that was set to open at 10 a.m. and the Vanguard campus.
Motorists were urged to avoid the area if at all possible. U.S. Route 30 served as an alternate route until the roadway was cleared around 7:10 a.m.
