Trooper Finds 317 Pounds of Marijuana in Philadelphia Man's Minivan During Interstate 95 Traffic Stop: Police

Rhode Island State Police said a trooper found 317 pounds of marijuana in a Philadelphia man's minivan during a traffic stop.

State police said Wednesday that 44-year-old Jian Zhi Li of Solly Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and related crimes.

Police said an officer pulled over Li's minivan just before midnight Monday in along Interstate 95 in Warwick for a traffic stop. They said the officer detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. A search turned up 327 vacuum-sealed plastic bundles of marijuana packaged in 12 cardboard boxes in the minivan's rear. [[376552271, C]]
