New Jersey's oldest casino is about to get in on the newest form of gambling.
Resorts Casino Hotel was approved to launch its internet gambling site, www.resortscasino.com.
The site will be available to the public following a 5-day test by state gambling regulators, to make sure its equipment and systems work properly. The test starts Friday.
If all goes well, the site could be fully operational and open to the public on Feb. 25.
Resorts is partnered with Sportech NYX Gaming LLC to offer online gambling.
Wednesday's approval doesn't affect a pending application from Resorts to do internet gambling with PokerStars, the world's largest online poker web site.
The company is still undergoing a lengthy investigation by New Jersey officials regarding legal trouble some of its former officials encountered.
