Primary Care Doctor Shortage in Philly

Philadelphia cracked the list of the top 25 markets with doctor shortages, according to a list compiled by BetterDoctor Inc.

BetterDoctor of San Francisco, which runs a Web site that helps patients find doctors, said it used government data to calculate the average number of local residents per primary-care doctor in cities across the country.

Philadelphia, the home to five medical schools, ranked 16th on the list with 258 residents per doctor. Read full story here.
