Leader of Philly Dance Group & Youth Organization Faces Child Sexual Assault Charges

Tyree Dumas, 28, runs the DollarBoyz dance troupe in West Philly.

The CEO of a West Philadelphia dance group and youth movement faces charges of sexually assaulting children over a 10-year period.

Tyree Dumas, 28, of Philadelphia, was arrested last week and charged with indecent assault, sexual assault, corruption of a minor and other related offenses.

"I'm trying to give our kids hope," Dumas says in a video posted online.

Police say the sexual assault incidents occurred in January of 2008, February of 2013 and June of 2017.

Dumas is the CEO and founder of DollarBoyz, a Philadelphia-based dance troupe and youth organization specializing in entertainment, the performing arts, sports, advocacy, mentoring and drug prevention geared toward 11 to 17 year olds. Police say the victims were members of his organization based at 54th and Market streets.

Dumas posted bail as he awaits a court hearing next month. NBC10 was unable to reach him for comment Tuesday night. Court records don't list an attorney who could comment on Dumas' behalf.
