Man Sexually Assaults Duct Taped and Handcuffed Woman in Pennypack Park: Police

An investigation is underway after a man duct taped, handcuffed and sexually assaulted a woman in Pennypack Park Wednesday night, according to police.

The 22-year-old woman told police she was walking through the park on the 2800 block of Rhawn Street around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday when a man approached her from behind, covered her mouth and forced her into a wooded area. He then placed duct tape over her mouth, handcuffed her wrists to her ankles and then physically and sexually assaulted her before fleeing the scene, police said.

The woman described her attacker as a black male in his 30s with medium to light complexion standing 6-feet and weighing between 250 and 300 pounds. She also said he had coarse, light-brown hair, a scruffy beard, light brown eyes, a heart tattoo with tribal symbols on his chest and crooked front teeth. He was also carrying a blue book bag, according to investigators.

Investigators released a composite sketch of the suspect. If you have any information on his identity, please call Philadelphia Police.
