Train Strikes, Kills Pedestrian, Slows Trains on Northeast Corridor

Delays are easing for Northeast Corridor rail passengers hours after a New Jersey Transit train struck and killed a man.

NJ Transit says the train was headed for New York's Penn Station Tuesday when it hit the man about 4 miles west of the Jersey Avenue station.

Service was initially suspended between Trenton and Princeton Junction. When it resumed, there were delays of up to an hour during morning rush for NJ Transit and Amtrak trains between Trenton and Metro Park.

Amtrak apologized to passengers for the delays on Northeast Corridor trains between Philadelphia and New York. [[370621181, C]]
