Multiple vehicles crashed in the southbound lanes of the Roosevelt Boulevard during Thursday morning rush hour.
Officials say the accident occurred on the Boulevard just before the on-ramp for Interstate-76 near Fox Street around 8:45 a.m. The serious crash led at least one vehicle to leave the roadway and end up on the other side of the barrier.
An ambulance transported at least one person from the scene to a local hospital.
Traffic was backed up from around Ridge Avenue to 5th Street.
Crews are still working to clear all the disabled vehicles from the roadway.
