Man Loses Fingers in Pennsylvania Fireworks Accident

Authorities say a western Pennsylvania man lost some fingers and suffered chemical burns to his chest when fireworks exploded in his hand outside a church.

The man in his 40s was airlifted to a Pittsburgh hospital after the incident around 8:40 p.m. Sunday at the Gardner Chapel Assembly of God in Shenango, Lawrence County.

Emergency officials say the man also sustained chemical burns. Information on his condition wasn't immediately available.

Shenango is about 70 miles northwest of Pittsburgh.
