Prosecutors say a New York man intentionally killed his 82-year-old grandmother at her upstate home last year before disposing of her body in a rural area across the border in Pennsylvania.
The Press & Sun-Bulletin of Binghamton reports more details in the second-degree murder case against 30-year-old Kenneth Weber were revealed Thursday during a bail hearing in Broome County Court.
Police say Weber told them that Saundra Stabler died after suffering a seizure and falling down a staircase at her home in the Binghamton suburb of Vestal in late January 2015. But prosecutors say they have evidence showing Weber intentionally killed the woman.
Stabler's body was found a week later off a back road in Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania.
A motive for the slaying hasn't been disclosed by police.
Weber is being held on $500,000 cash bail.
