A man has been jailed on charges he critically wounded a sleeping man by firing a shotgun through the window of the victim's western Pennsylvania home.
Butler police say 19-year-old Jase Charlton fired the shot about 4 a.m. Monday, wounding 20-year-old Brandon Fairtrace, who was in bed with his girlfriend.
Police say several people called them identifying Charlton as the shooter, and they say he confessed Tuesday, when they tracked him down. Police say Charlton pulled a spent shotgun shell and a live one from his sock as he acknowledged firing the shot.
Online court records don't list an attorney for Charlton, who remained in the Butler County Jail on Wednesday on attempted homicide and other charges.
Police believe Charlton and Fairtrace are in rival groups of friends who had been feuding in recent weeks.
