Man Gets 60-Year Sentence in Fatal NJ Mobile Home Park Shooting

A man convicted in a fatal shooting at a southern New Jersey mobile home park has been sentenced to 60 years in state prison.

Cumberland County prosecutors say 20-year-old Tatrone Waters, of Bridgeton, will have to serve about 51 years before he becomes eligible for parole under the sentenced imposed Friday.

Waters was convicted last November on murder, aggravated assault and weapons charges in the April 2011 slaying of 19-year-old David Sapp. The shooting occurred at Tip's Trailer Park on Route 49 in Fairfield Township.

Authorities say Waters was driving through the mobile home park when he fired two shots from a handgun toward Sapp and two other people. One of the bullets struck Sapp in the heart, and he was pronounced dead a short time later at a hospital.
