A man who pleaded guilty to making a false report during a manhunt for the suspect in the murders of six people in suburban Philadelphia has been sentenced to 11½ to 24 months in prison.
The (Doylestown) Intelligencer reports that 34-year-old Luke Sanderlin of Doylestown was sentenced Monday in Bucks County Court.
Police were searching for Bradley Stone in the murders of his ex-wife and five of her relatives in December when they said Sanderlin reported an attack by someone resembling the suspect.
Stone was later found dead, and detectives accused Sanderlin of fabricating the story. He pleaded guilty in May to false alarm, false report and reckless endangerment.
Sanderlin told the court that his actions were prompted by a hallucination linked to an unspecified neurological disorder.
