Woman Robs Delaware Beach Motel: Police

A Delaware woman has been arrested after she allegedly threatened and robbed a clerk at a popular beach town motel.

The robbery happened around 4:15 a.m. Wednesday. when Michelle L. Bloothoofd entered the Econo Lodge on Coastal Highway, police said. Bloothoofd allegedly approached the man working at the counter, demanded money and told him she had a gun.

The employee told the woman there was no money, and then he went into an office and called 9-1-1, investigators said. Bloothoofd threatened to shoot the employee through the door, but instead took $400 from various drawers behind the counter, according to police.
