Man Injured in Accident With Tractor-Trailer Dies

Delaware State Police say a man injured when his car crashed into a parked tractor-trailer in New Castle has died.

Troopers say 36-year-old Twan T. Money of Newark died Tuesday at Christiana Hospital, where he was taken after the Dec. 27 crash.

Police say Money was driving southbound on Interstate 95 near the exit for Route 141 when for an unknown reason his 2009 Chevy Aveo accelerated, made an abrupt lane change and struck the rear of the tractor trailer parked on the road's shoulder.

Forty-eight-year-old Rodney L. Scott of Baltimore, who was sleeping in his truck's cab, was not hurt.

Troopers say Scott was issued a traffic summons for several motor carrier safety and registration violations. No charges related to the crash have been filed, and the incident remains under investigation.

The collision forced authorities to shut down the highway for more than four hours as they cleaned up the mess.
