Cinnaminson Man Sexually Assaults Teen Boy: Police

A Cinnaminson man was arrested on Friday for allegedly sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy last month at a township park after contacting him on an internet message board.

Police say that Daniel Smith, 39, met the teen at Wood Park in Cinnaminson on Dec. 1 after Smith replied to the teenโ€™s online post asking for sex.

Police say that after meeting the teen, the two engaged in a sexual encounter in Smithโ€™s pickup truck. When the teen tried to stop the encounter, Smith allegedly forced him to continue the act.

Police then say that Smith and the teen agreed to meet a second time last Friday. After appearing at Wood Park once again, authorities arrived to take Smith into custody.

Smith is charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault, one count of second-degree attempted sexual assault and one count of endangering the welfare of a child.

He is being held in Burlington County Jail on $200,000 bail with no 10 percent option.
