Man Shot During Philly Robbery in Critical Condition

A man shot in the stomach during an apparent robbery in Northeast Philadelphia Saturday night remained in critical condition on Sunday.

Police said the 28-year-old man was on Cheltenham Avenue near Torresdale, in Wissinoming, about 9:40 p.m. when he was approached by two men who tried to rob him. One of the men opened fire on the victim, wounding him in the stomach, before the robbers fled.

The man was taken to Temple University Hospital in critical condition.

Police on Sunday said no arrests were made in the shooting, but that officers did recover a gun at the scene.
