Armed robbers stole $100,000 from a man who had just cashed a check in South Philadelphia, police said.

The 44-year-old man cashed a check at a business on the 2800 block of South Randolph Street around 9:35 a.m. Tuesday. The man then got into his work van and began to drive off when a white van crashed into his vehicle.

“They called a pick move, hit him in a corner, spun him around and trapped him against that PT Cruiser,” Billy Didonato, a witness, told NBC10.

The victim got out to exchange info when two armed men pointed their guns toward him and demanded money, police said. The suspects then grabbed the cash and fled in the white van westbound on Johnson Street.

“You have to be careful," Didonato said. "You want to cash a big check like that, somebody either knows about it, they’re following you, they’re watching you and you gotta be careful today.”

No arrests have been made. Police have not released a detailed description of the two suspects.
