Wal-Mart Shopper Arrested for Pepper Spray Threat: Police

Delaware State police have arrested a woman they say threatened a store worker with pepper spray during a confrontation over alleged shoplifting.

It happened about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday at a Wal-Mart on Centerville Road in Wilmington. Troopers say a woman put clothes in a bag and left the store.

Police say a store employee confronted the woman and tried to take the bag from her. Officers say the woman refused and the two continued pulling on the bag. Troopers say the woman took a can of pepper spray from her pocket and threatened the employee.

A trooper arrived and arrested the woman after a brief struggle.

Twenty-eight-year-old Ebony Hargrow of Wilmington was charged with robbery and carrying a concealed dangerous instrument.
