Authorities are searching for the person who shot and killed a man in a central New Jersey community.
Acting Union County Prosecutor Grace Park said 25-year-old Rashad Daye of Green Brook was pronounced dead at a hospital late Wednesday morning, several hours after he was wounded in Plainfield.
Park said the shooting occurred around 5:30 a.m.
A Plainfield police officer on patrol heard multiple gunshots fired in the area of Park Avenue and East Ninth Street, and responding officers soon found Daye suffering from a gunshot wound.
No arrests have been made, and a motive for the shooting remained under investigation.
