Loaded Shotgun, 100 Pounds of Venison Found in Ex-Con's Home: Police

A central Pennsylvania ex-con is facing dozens of charges after wildlife officials said they found a loaded shotgun in his car and 100 pounds of venison in his home.

The Pennsylvania Game Commission said Tuesday that 41-year-old Sean Waltermyer of York Springs in Adams County is charged with being a convicted felon in possession of firearms and with more than two dozen summary counts of illegal hunting and poaching.

Commission officials said a wildlife conservation officer on routine patrol found a loaded shotgun in Waltermyer's vehicle on Oct. 19 and suspected he killed an 8-point whitetail deer.

After his arrest, authorities searching his home found seven more firearms as well as a number of deer antlers and more than 100 pounds of venison.

Waltermyer waived his preliminary hearing last month.
