Funeral Director Denied Parole After Illegally Harvesting Body Parts

A former funeral director was denied parole after illegally harvesting body parts for resale.

New Jersey's parole board has denied early release to a former funeral director who pleaded guilty to his role in a ring that illegally harvested body parts for resale.

The board called Stephen Finley's actions an ``abomination'' and his expressions of remorse ``superficial.''

The 48-year-old was sentenced to five years in prison after he pleaded guilty in 2009 to desecrating human remains.

The prison time was cut because of good behavior and Finley is due to be released in June.

Karen Delre, whose father's body was desecrated in Finley's funeral home, tells The Star-Ledger of Newark she doesn't think justice will ever be served.
