FedEx Man Arrested for Drunken Delivery Driving

Police say driver found with Wawa coffee cup full of whiskey

A FedEx driver was allegedly half in the bag while delivering bags (and boxes and packages) to Upper Darby residences Dec. 7.

Thomas W. Stefanski, 53, was charged with drunken driving after a witness saw him drive up on a curb and strike a sign, Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood told NBC Philadelphia.

Police found Stefanski parked in the middle of Green Avenue with a Wawa coffee cup full of booze and an almost empty bottle of Black Velvet Canadian whiskey at about 4:30 p.m., reports delcotimes.com.

Stefanski told two officers that he was just looking for an address on Green Avenue. Police said they could smell alcohol on his breath, his eyes were bloodshot and he had to lean against the side of the delivery truck to steady himself.

Stefanski was brought to the hospital for blood testing and released pending a summons to appear in court.

A FedEx employee picked up the remaining 27 packages that Stefanski had yet to deliver and the truck, which Stefanski owns as a sub-contractor, was towed away, reports the delcotimes.com.
