Family Pleads for Leads in S. Jersey Hit and Run

Man killed while walking home from a bar on Saturday

The family of a Cherry Hill, N.J. man who was killed over the weekend by a hit and run driver is speaking out, asking for anyone with information to come forward.

Brian DelGozzo, 26, was walking along Cooper Landing Road near New York Avenue around 3 a.m. Saturday when he was hit, police said.

Another driver noticed DelGozzo lying face down on the shoulder some time later and called police.

He was rushed to Kennedy University Hospital – Cherry Hill where he later died of massive upper body trauma, officials said.

DelGozzo, the youngest of four, worked at the Cherry Hill Library along King's Highway and planned to buy a house soon. His brother Christian describes him as a good kid.

"He was a funny dude, I'm gonna miss him," Christian said Monday. "He was trying to make things happen for himself, you know, he was headed in the right direction."

Christian believes his brother was walking home from Kaminski's bar after he missed a ride from a friend.

Now, they just want anyone with information to come forward and help find the person responsible for Brian's death.

"Just call the police, if someone saw something, you know, that would mean a lot to my family," Christian said.

Those with information can call Cherry Hill Police at 856.432.8857.
