Dad Charged in Death of Shaken Baby

Norristown man admits to shaking baby in her sleep

A Norristown man is in custody charged with shaking his 2-month-old daughter to death.

Police say 20-year-old Khalil Brown shook the baby at their home in Plymouth Meeting in late January. Authorities say the girl was removed from life support at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia on Friday.

Montgomery County First Assistant District Attorney Kevin Steele says Brown admitted going into the girl's bedroom while she was sleeping and shaking her. Paramedics called to the scene found the baby bleeding from the nose and not breathing.

Brown was charged with third-degree murder and related charges on Tuesday. It was not immediately clear if he had an attorney.

A preliminary hearing is set for Feb. 19.
