A traffic stop for not wearing a seat belt resulted in a man being arrested for driving under the influence for the fifth time in the last eight years.
It all started when a Delaware State trooper pulled over a Nissan Sentra around 3:50 p.m. Sunday at South DuPont Highway (U.S. Route 13) and Canterbury Road in Felton, Del.
The driver, Raymond Warncke of Dover, Del., allegedly gave the trooper a false name saying his name was "Michael," according to state police Master Cpl. Gary Fournier.
The officer did a computer check, found out Warncke’s true identity and proceeded to find out that Warncke’s wasn’t to have any contact with the 40-year-old woman in his passenger seat, according to state police.
The trooper also said he smelled alcohol on Warncke’s breath.
Warncke, 33, was arrested for suspicion of DUI -- the fifth time since 2005 he was arrested for DUI. He also was charged with drug possession for having 11 grams of marijuana on him and for criminal impersonation.
He also was charged with not wearing the seat belt and driving on a suspended license, according to police.
