A 2-year-old boy was struck and killed by a postal truck today in Downingtown.
The accident happened shortly before 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of Chestnut Street and Kennedy Drive.
Police say that a 53-year-old postal worker was delivering the mail. He began to pull away and drive to the next mailbox when he accidentally struck the boy who was in front of his vehicle unseen.

Paramedics took the boy to the Paoli Trauma Center where he died from his injuries.
Police continue to investigate the accident though no charges are pending against the driver.
