2 Charged in Delaware Power Tool Thefts

Delaware authorities in have charged two men with stealing power tools from garages, sheds and utility trailers in the Dagsboro area.

The Delaware State Police says 33-year-old Jacob Svenson and 37-year-old Edward Nearey Jr. were arrested Thursday and face burglary, theft and other charges.

The Delaware State Police says a search warrant conducted at their residence uncovered over $15,000 in stolen property including a commercial wood splitter, air compressors and power tools.

The Delaware State Police says that troopers have recently investigated approximately 20 burglaries in the Dagsboro and Selbyville area and multiple reports of thefts from yards and vehicles.

No one answered Saturday evening at telephone listing for Nearey. A woman who answered at a listing for Svenson did not comment.
