Southwest: 2d quarterly loss, 36th straight up year

Southwest Airlines Co. reported its second consecutive quarterly loss yesterday, but said it finished 2008 in the black. Shares rose 17 percent after the carrier also said it would trim seat capacity and suspend growth plans.
