Methacton Strike Averted

School will continue on Friday in the Methacton School District.

The President of the school board and the union made the announcement after a bargaining session on Thursday.

Methacton teachers had been without a contract for more than a year.

Both sides worked with a mediator to come up with a negotiated settlement, which still needs to be ratified. They say that this will be able to happen in about one week.

β€œYes, we are relieved,” said Howard Jones, President of the Methacton School Board. β€œWe’re looking forward to getting it ratified and we’re looking forward to school continuing. The kids are the main issue here.”

The details of the settlement are not being released to the public at this time.
