Vegan Love Returns to Meritage

The vegan population is lamenting the impending shuttering of Horizons, and Anne Coll is trying to soften the blow at Meritage. On May 3, Coll will be celebrating the return of her acclaimed vegan menu to the happy smiles of lots of veg-heads. The menu will only be available on Tuesday nights, and the a la carte menu is available if your dinner date isn't of the green-persuasion. If you need any more convincing, the wine list is top-notch and the tap list is stacked with local craft brews.

For $35, diners will get four courses of veggie goodness, with an amuse bouche:

pickled spring vegetables

First Course
roasted baby beets, orange and grapefruit supremes, mint, rhubarb and farm greens citrus vinaigrette

Second Course
vegan risotto with fava beans, swiss chard and spring onion puree

Third Course
crispy chick pea cake with black olive tapenade, smoked tomato chutney, herb puree and sauteed spinach

Fourth Course
Rhubarb cobbler
